Marc by Marc Jacobs “Too Hot To Handle” Nude shoulder bag

When deciding how best to reward myself for passing my viva and completing my PhD (something I have wanted since I was 6 years old), I went through a long decision making process. Shoes perhaps? A cheeky purchase from Louboutin. Certainly when I started the whole PhD malarkey I promised myself that, on the day that my title changed forever, I would make a red-soled shoe investment. But as every other fickle fashion aficionado has done before me, I changed my mind.

I once jokingly remarked that many of my personal fashion choices are the fault of Mr. Marc Jacobs. Brightly striped summer dress for example, 50s shaped skirts, or sugary sweet spring pastels. And now big checks. Interestingly, I have been woefully behind on what collections are what this season, and only realised that Louis Vuitton had indulged in a orgy of checks for SS13 after buying these trousers. Clearly, Marc and I are like this.

Perhaps mine and Marc’s Star Trek style fashion mind meld is responsible for my eventual choice of post viva treat. As soon as I saw this bag I was completely smitten and knew that I'd found my baby. I'm not usually a bag person, I don't own very many and I don't change the one I use very often. But a beautiful classic bag that has enough room for the myriad of junk that I carry around is something that I will use and love (and smell, such deliciously fragrant leather) every day. And given that Marc and I basically share a brain, it just makes sense to me to own one of his.
