We took one of my birthday presents for an outing on Sunday: a gorgeous navy blue picnic hamper, complete with its own cutlery, china plates, napkins and even little wine glasses. My awesome parents know exactly what I like! A simple picnic of veggies, hummous, blue cheese and pitta bread in the local park felt like a perfect way to break in my new toy. Followed by a choc-ice, which is a mandatory feature of any summer picnic. We enjoyed the sunshine, seated in comfort on a home-crocheted picnic blanket, and watched children hitting each other cricket bats and the world’s cutest puppy charging about attacking the feet of passers by.

I love the combination of different prints in this outfit, so much so that I’ve worn this combination twice this week! The trousers are a little more, erm, posterior enhancing then I would like them to be (so many of the photos taken for this post got rejected for containing too much ass), but it’s nothing I can’t fix with a bit of sewing intervention. I love the current fad for pyjama trousers: maximum comfort for minimal effort, plus it is super easy to rustle up a pair for yourself.

Here’s to more sunshine and picnics!

LOVE the print combination here and I am very jealous of your picnic basket!

The picnic hamper is the most perfect birthday present ever!
And I love the prints you’re wearing. The one on the blouse is particularly gorgeous.
You look so amazing! xo
I’ve always wanted a picnic hamper like that. Love the print combination too! x
I absolutely love the tricolor gingham print in that picnic basket! Did you make that basket, or did you buy it?
