Writing has very much taken a back seat to life in recent weeks. There has been a lot going on, some of it wonderful and some of it very stressful and a massive pain in my arse. I’m stuck in limbo at the moment, three months shy of submitting my thesis, madly applying for jobs in scientific communication, publishing and research councils and yearning for the next stage of my life to begin. After eight years of university I am quite ready to have a proper job! Recently I have also been volunteering with Sense About Science, which has been busy and fascinating and not quite like anything I’ve ever done before. If you had told me two weeks ago that by now I would have attended a mass lobby at parliament for libel law reform, for which I formatted a petition of over 60,000 names, and which was also attended by such heroes of mine as Dara O Briain, Brian Cox, Ben Goldacre and Simon Singh, I would have been disbelieving at best. But that is what I’ve been up to over the last few weeks, and that is partly why blogging hasn’t featured strongly on the radar. I will do my best to fix this, but as the next few months are likely to be mental I can make no promises!
Never fear. As Arnie so eloquently put it, I’ll be back. I’ve spent too much
time money in the Zara sales recently to not indulge in some gratuitous wardrobe oversharing! (The yellow jacket in the photograph is one such purchase).
Love to all, have a wonderful weekend! xx
